Doug Young, Ph.D.Vice President, Touchpoint Clinical Solutions, Current Responsibilities Doug is responsible for strategic planning and execution for the Publicis Touchpoint Solutions healthcare education center-of-excellence -- Touchpoint Clinical Solutions -- which includes field and inside, clinical health educators, clinical consultants, and medical science liaisons. Life Sciences Background Doug is a global executive with more than 22 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 16 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he was previously Vice President of Medical Affairs, and 6 years at Sandoz Research Institute (currently Novartis). He has an extensive background formulating effective strategies, building and leading teams, and developing and executing innovative solutions. Doug exhibits in-depth expertise in marketing, medical affairs, medical education, and medical science liaisons. He completed his PhD in the Department of Pharmacology and his post-doctoral training in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, where he later became an Assistant Research Professor. Passion Doug has devoted his career to the biopharma industry and the process of researching and developing life-saving and life-enhancing medicines that can help patients who are coping with serious health challenges. He strongly believes the industry can play an integral role in partnering with healthcare providers to improve the lives of patients and their caregivers. Doug currently serves on the board of the Trenton and Mercer County Boys and Girls Club and the advisory board of the Xavier College of Pharmacy. He is also the author of more than 35 scientific publications and enjoys playing golf, reading and traveling.
